Three’s the charm
How amazing did ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ do at the box office? So amazing that two sequels have already been green-lit. Andrew Garfield’s debut as the web-slinger is ‘the first instalment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents,’ Sony explains. That’s our Spidey—an emo action hero!

Sneak peek time
This week, movie buffs scored a few glimpses of some eagerly anticipated films. Naomi Watts was photographed in character as the late Princess Diana for an upcoming biopic of the beloved royal called simply ‘Diana.’ And we must say, the resemblance is pretty impressive!

Also this week, the first poster for ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ was revealed, featuring a magical landscape with iconic Oz features like the Emerald City and the Yellow Brick Road. Given the awesome lineup of actors like James Franco (as the Wizard), Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, and Mila Kunis attached, we were already intrigued—now it’s safe to say that Sam Raimi’s flick will be visually stunning.

Finally, the ‘Iron Man 3’ anticipation continues to build, as Marvel revealed a concept art image featuring Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) surrounded by gun-toting baddies. Memo to the studio: Teasing us like this is just cruel.

Part of Katy
Don’t you just hate it when you’re in the middle of filming a documentary about your world tour, and suddenly the collapse of your marriage is caught on camera? That’s what happened to Katy Perry, who split with hubby Russell Brand over the course of filming ‘Part of Me.’ But as awkward as the timing might have been, co-director Dan Cutforth told MTV News ‘there was never really any discussion’ about keeping that particular part of Katy’s life out of the movie: ‘People knew what she went through was not easy for her, and to make it look like it was would have been untruthful, and that's not her way.’ Still, it takes some guts to share something so personal!

Tom is Hollywood’s top gun
Tom Cruise may be having a rough time in his personal life right now, with Katie Holmes having filed for divorce, but at least he can console himself with the knowledge that he’s really, really rich. ‘Forbes’ reports that Tom was Hollywood’s highest-paid actor in the past year; he raked in $76 million. Not too shabby.
