Stars hit Toronto
The Toronto Film Festival launched Thursday 6 September with the premiere of the Bruce Willis/Joseph Gordon-Levitt sci-fi thriller 'Looper'—and more big-name stars are in town for screenings of eagerly anticipated movies. Among them: the heroine trifecta of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Watson, and Kristen Stewart, all promoting films that have nothing to do with the big-budget franchises they're best known for. Jennifer has ‘The Silver Linings Playbook,’ Emma has ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower,’ and K-Stew has ‘On the Road.’ Which are you most excited to see?

Lights, camera, Zellweger
Actress Renée Zellweger is branching out into directing. The Oscar winner will helm the comedy ‘4 ½ Minutes,’ starring Johnny Knoxville as a dysfunctional comedian (is there any other kind?). Filming starts in February, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Tobey sliced from ‘Pi’
Tobey Maguire's small role in the upcoming book adaptation ‘The Life of Pi’ was recast. But it's not because the former Spider-Man's acting was lousy—it's just that director Ang Lee felt that his famous face stood out in a movie of non-name actors, according to the Hollywood Reporters. Tobey said in a statement that he ‘fully support[s] Ang's decision.’
